Terms and Conditions for the Summer Swim Team Scholarship Program 2024

Welcome to the Black Kids Swim (BKS) Summer Swim Team Scholarship Program. The following terms and conditions apply to participants who wish to apply for the scholarship program in the summer of 2024.

Summer Swim Scholarship Program 2024 application process is now closed.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be of African American or African descent.
• Applicants must fill out the online application and provide all required material including an essay and a photo of themselves.
• Applicants must adhere to the application timeline and guidelines as set forth by BKS.

Scholarship Award

• A limited number of scholarships of up to $200 will be provided to offset the cost of joining a summer swim team.
• Scholarships will be awarded based on the assessment of the submitted applications and compliance with all application requirements.
• All payments will be made directly to the summer swim teams on behalf of the scholarship recipients.

Use of Likeness

• By accepting the scholarship, recipients agree to allow BKS to use their name, image, and likeness for promotional purposes on the BKS website and social media platforms.
• Recipients may be requested to participate in promotional activities related to the scholarship program.

Post-Program Commitment

• At the end of the summer swim season, scholarship recipients must write a letter to BKS summarizing their experience with the swim team.
• Recipients may also be required to provide feedback or participate in surveys to help measure the program’s impact.

General Conditions

• Scholarships are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash.
• BKS reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
• Any personal information collected during the application process will be used solely for the purposes of the scholarship program and in accordance with BKS’s privacy policy.

Application Period

• The scholarship application process opens on May 10th, 2024.
• The application deadline is June 1st, 2024.
• Scholarship awards will be announced on or around June 15th, 2024, with the exact date to be determined.

Miscellaneous

• Applicants are responsible for ensuring their applications are complete and submitted by the deadline.
• BKS is not responsible for any technical failures or other issues that may impede an applicant’s submission.
• Decisions made by BKS are final and not subject to appeal.
