To be eligible for a directory listing account on our website you must represent a business or serve as an independent service provider relevant to the swimming community AND meet the eligibility definition of a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Namely, small businesses that are at least 51% owned and controlled by one or more disadvantaged persons who are both socially disadvantaged and economically disadvantaged AND who have been subjected to racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias in American society. Economically disadvantaged is defined as individuals who have had a lessened ability to compete in the marketplace due to diminished capital and credit opportunities.
The firm must be small, according to SBA’s size standards. Read the SBA’s full qualification criteria.
Each registrant must maintain the accuracy of their information and is fully responsible for any activity under their account.
Your user ID and password must be kept confidential. We may disable your user ID and password at our sole discretion without notice or explanation.
We may suspend, delete, or cancel your account at any time, without notice, if you breach any of these terms and conditions.
The BKS Directory is a comprehensive, freely accessible guide aimed to serve the Black swimming community. Listings are subject to approval and must comply with our principles of inclusivity and support for the swimming community.
Listings within the BKS Directory are free but must be renewed every 6 months to ensure the information remains current. Failure to renew will result in the removal of the listing.
At this time, all listings in the BKS Directory will be offered free of charge.
Submitter agrees not to post any listing or content that is illegal, offensive, or infringes on the rights of others.
There are currently no fees for listing in the BKS Directory.
You grant to us a worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate, and distribute your content in any existing or future media.
You warrant that your content will comply with these terms and conditions, and you will be liable to us and indemnify us for any breach of that warranty.
If you encounter any abuse or violation of these terms within the BKS Directory, please report it to us directly.
We do not warrant the completeness or accuracy of the information published on our website.
Our liability is limited and excluded to the maximum extent permitted under applicable law. We will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss or damages arising under these terms and conditions or in connection with our website.

Authorization for Background Checks: By using our service, you hereby authorize Black Kids Swim to conduct background checks at any time following your initial consent. These checks may include, but are not limited to, verifying your identity, criminal history, professional history, and any other checks deemed necessary by Black Kids Swim or its designated agents.
Fees Related to Background Checks: You acknowledge that certain fees may be required to conduct these background checks. These fees, if any, will be disclosed to you in advance. Payment of these fees must be made prior to the commencement of the background check process. All fees are non-refundable, except as may be required by law.
Pending Approval: Your registration, access to certain services, and/or continued use of Black Kids Swim’s platform may be contingent upon the satisfactory completion of these background checks. The decision to grant or deny access based on the results of a background check is at the sole discretion of Black Kids Swim.
Notification: Should any background check results impact your status with Black Kids Swim, you will be notified promptly, and, where applicable, will be provided with the information, sources of information, and instructions on how to dispute the results of the background check in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or relevant local regulations.
Consent: By agreeing to these terms, you confirm that you have provided accurate information to the best of your knowledge and agree to notify Black Kids Swim immediately of any changes to the information you have provided. You understand that falsification, misrepresentation, or omission of requested information may result in denial or termination of your use of Black Kids Swim’s services.
